So, I left everyone hanging with our lil embryos and here’s the update. 15 eggs were retrieved and 13 of those eggs were fertilized. On day 3 (Feb. 27), I received a call from lab and all 13 embryos had divided. My next update would be day 5 (March 1).
March 1 and 2 came and went without a phone call. Hmmm…So, on day 7 (March 3), I decided to give the lab a call. The tech from the lab called back with the good news that they were able to freeze 7 embryos! This is an excellent number. RAD only freezes embryos that have reached blastocyst phase because these are the healthiest and most viable embryos.
So, we have named our embryos after the 7 Dwarfs: Sleepy, Sneezy, Dopey, Doc, Grumpy, Happy, and Bashful.
Peace out lil guys, we’ll see you in about 5 years!
